Training 2: Supporting Teens Through Trauma & Regulation

Goal:
Help case workers understand how trauma and adolescent brain development shape behavior and build skills to support regulation and connection.

Objectives:

  • Explain adolescent brain restructuring and the impact on emotional and behavioral responses in teens (FFFF).
  • Recognize signs of nervous system dysregulation and stress responses.
  • Practice 2-3 regulation tools that can be used in real time.
  • Explore how calming corners and key neuroscience insights support trust, safety, and co-regulation.
  • Identify ways to build an authentic community through connection with teens.
