Goal:
Equip staff to use calming tools and spaces that promote safety, regulation, and connection for children whose developing brains may be impacted by trauma.
Objectives:
- Explain how trauma and brain development influence emotionaland behavioral responses.
- Define the purpose of calming bags and regulation stations for nervous system support (FFFF).
- Identify age-appropriate materials and tools that nurture sensory and emotional regulation.
- Practice simple grounding and breathing techniques that help organize developing brains.
- Learn how to offer regulation tools in trauma-informed, choice-based ways.
- Create a plan to observe and adjust supports based on what works best for kids.
