About this Training:
In this training, attendees will learn how to more effectively support trauma exposed youth by using trauma informed de-escalation techniques. This course provides a robust examination of trauma and how trauma reminders impact youth behaviors.
Define trauma.
List at least 3 principals of trauma informed care.
Recognize at least 3 areas of function impacted by trauma.
List the 3 components of the cognitive triangle.
Identify 3 evidence-based approaches caregivers can use to support trauma exposed youth.
De-escalation Techniques
Providers learn the causes of aggression, types of aggression, ways to assess the level of escalation, and techniques to de-escalate emotionally agitated individuals.
Course Objectives.
-Define anger, aggression, and de-escalation.
-Discuss the various causes of aggression.
-Identify the 4 behavior levels.
