DESCRIPTION:Trauma Informed Interventions & De-Escalation Techniques \nFacilitated by Graham Perkovich\, BS\, CTP\,CATP\, Sunshine Health \nAbout this Training: \nIn this training\, attendees will learn how to more effectively support trauma exposed youth by using trauma informed de-escalation techniques. This course provides a robust examination of trauma and how trauma reminders impact youth behaviors. \nDefine trauma.\nList at least 3 principals of trauma informed care.\nRecognize at least 3 areas of function impacted by trauma.\nList the 3 components of the cognitive triangle.\nIdentify 3 evidence-based approaches caregivers can use to support trauma exposed youth. \n  \nDe-escalation Techniques \nProviders learn the causes of aggression\, types of aggression\, ways to assess the level of escalation\, and techniques to de-escalate emotionally agitated individuals. \nCourse Objectives. \n-Define anger\, aggression\, and de-escalation.\n-Discuss the various causes of aggression.\n-Identify the 4 behavior levels. \nA link to the training will be sent out in advance to all registered participants. \nIf you need assistance to participate in this training due to a disability as defined under the ADA\, please contact Nicky Smith on 772-519-1910 at least three (3) business days prior to the scheduled event to request an accommodation.
